Classics in the Tropics

This video introduces Mandolin, our traditional Post Boat, sailing in the warm tropical waters of Krabi, Thailand. With her distinctive red sails, wooden spars and traditional lines, Mandolin offers a very different experience from the speedboats and modern charter yachts more commonly associated with Southern Thailand.

Sailing from Krabi Boat Lagoon, the video shows Mandolin underway in the rivers, estuary and sheltered waters that make this part of Krabi particularly suited to relaxed small-boat sailing. She is part of the Character Boat Charters collection and our Classics in the Tropics concept – traditional boats enjoyed in an unexpectedly tropical setting.

The experience suits couples, families, small groups, and experienced sailors, and requires no prior sailing experience. For traditional-boat and dinghy sailors visiting Thailand, Mandolin also offers a chance to enjoy something reassuringly familiar in completely different surroundings.
